Hanmer Springs - NZ South Island - Thrillseekers!

We arrived in the pretty village of Hanmer Springs in the northern part of the NZ Southern Alps - through the most stunning scenery imaginable! Passed about 2 cars on the 2 hour drive but millions of sheep! It's nice to have the roads pretty much to yourself after the hustle and bustle of home. We rewarded ourselves immediately by going to the spa and having private pool to relieve the aching muscles from the previous days kayaking and of course the driving - the spa was better in Rotorua though - so we were spoilt there. However it was lovely and very welcome!
You'll notice a picture of a seafood platter for 2! Well we'll admit that we have both put on 4kgs since we left home so you can imagine Lee is panic stricken and I'm resolute that we're on holiday - although this can't continue for the next month as I'll have to buy an extra seat on the plane to fit my expanding body!!! :-)
This morning we were up and about again and had an amazing 45 minute jet boat tour up the waipara gorge near to Hanmer. Totally different scenery to the north island and the boat ride was excellent! Didn't get too wet this time though but it was freezing cold!

Hi guys
The environment looks fantastic and an amazing place to be. Your photo's are just stunning. The rubber, blackholes, white stuff and tight cracks must be testing your skills! It's silly to say as your photo's speak for themselves, but have great Christmas and fab New Year, love Paul, Jane and Eloise xxx
